Mediafin publishes two of Belgium's most trusted business newspapers: De Tijd and L'Echo. The company also hosts events for owners, decision makers, and entrepreneurs across the country.
With respectively 56 and 143 years of experience breaking business stories and keeping the public informed, the newspapers have earned a reputation for honesty and integrity. To ensure its events meet the same standard, Mediafin leveraged idloom to streamline event management, improve personalization, and enhance the attendee experience.
The situation: manual media event management
"We hold different types of events," says Liesbet Maroye, Business Development Manager of Events at Mediafin. "Some are 100-person, invite-only events for scaleups and startups to network and to get inspired by other entrepreneurs. Others are for 500-600 people, and we also hold bigger business and finance events that host 5,000+ people."
Before implementing idloom, Maroye says the biggest challenge was that Mediafin treated everything manually. "We had to ask our own development team to start from scratch to build forms. We used Excel lists to manage attendee data, and our email communication strategy didn't let us target the attendee list to improve personalization."
She also speaks to challenges with compliance regulations such as GDPR. Using manual processes made it difficult for the company to track and manage attendees' communication and data-sharing preferences.
The solution: enabling ease of use with idloom
For Maroye, idloom's biggest benefit is ease of use. "It improves the customer journey," she says. "We can prefill things such as first name and last name. We can brand different event pages in the color and style that we want to keep Mediafin's identity consistent. And we can link it with our provider for ID badging and scanning during events. idloom is a one-on-one check-in solution that lets us follow the attendees through their event journey and is easily integrated with other tools."
She also highlights the use of idloom for internal events. "Our advertising department might organize events for just 10 or 20 people. This is easy to do once you've set up a flow."
The results: consistent support, ongoing customization
"We've been using idloom for 2-3 years," says Maroye. "Implementation started with a few sub-accounts, but it continues to grow."
Support is a standout benefit for Mediafin. According to Maroye, "One of the main reasons we chose idloom is because there was some local. It's the fact that I have someone in Belgium I can call and who is very responsive to issues. We have someone who can work with every single client — one person who knows your events, and you can go straight to that person with questions." By combining local presence with global expertise, idloom offers Mediafin the best of both worlds.
Maroye also highlights idloom's efforts in creating customized solutions for Mediafin. "We're looking to enhance our emailing tool," she says. "And integrate everything we have with the CRM." idloom is working hand in hand with Mediafin to create an advanced email module that will unify all event communication, in turn letting the organization track email bounces, attendee confirmations, and registration form completions.
Mediafin publications keep investors, entrepreneurs, decision makers, and business owners up-to-date. Partnership with idloom helps the company create and manage events that help the Belgian business community find new connections, identify new opportunities, and lay the foundation for future success.
